Addiction Recovery Apparel by Umili Tee LLC
Our History
Umili Tee (pronounced like Humility without an H) was born when i decided to take the fit your life around your recovery, not your recovery around your life as literal. I had been clean for quite a while but the death of family members had me reevaluate my life. So after moving back home to be there for my aging father while mom was at her end and my job telling me i couldn't telecommute anymore (the trip would have made life a rat race i wasn't willing to deal with anymore) I knew something had to happen. I had a degree in graphic design and still did websites here and there and graphics, the first man who took me through the steps had me do some graphics work for his laser engraver, NA logo with filigree and a name and clean date...
This got me thinking and my girlfriend at the time, who is since in the big meeting in the sky, told me i should use the skills I had for something I was doing. I picked up a used cricut and some vinyl and was making shirts and designs in a few days. Chance for Freedom in Pasadena first had me sell shirts at an event. I had donated items to auctions and done other things and i was continuing to hone my skills with different art and printing methods.
It wasn't long before many of the groups like GIGNA and Here and Now were ordering anniversary and event shirts, as well as members ordering shirts for their businesses. You know that ole, thank God for NA and thank NA for God, well I'd like to say thanks NA for the members who supported my business, and the productive members of society we've brought back into the fold that I have in turn been able to search out and support when possible.
“Humility is as much a part of staying clean as food and water are to staying alive."
Our Mission
As time went on in recovery i often saw how merchandise was used to help fund our efforts to put on conventions, raise money for H&I or PR, all while getting moving billboards for our groups, our areas, and recovery in general. I knew That with a small setup I could offer low prices to help the fundraising efforts and use my artistic talents at the same time.
Our mission is to support fund raising efforts and help groups product eye catching merchandise that is indicative of how our changes have gone in our life. Our lives look good matching our recovery event shirts, and our attitudes.
